FOUR REMARKS ON THE HISTORY OF DANCE
ENDANGERED HUMAN MOVEMENTS VOL.1
I am collaborating with choreographer Amanda Pina and visual artist Daniel Zimmerman on a piece exploring endangered human movements found in history. I'm writing and performing percussion music. This event will be a world premiere.
"With dances of fire, earth, water and air nadaproductions is in its elements. The extended project by the Viennese group around Amanda Piña and Daniel Zimmermann takes heed of the "endangered movements" on this planet. More precisely: it exmines the extinction of cultural diversity and its descended dance cultures. The artists do that entirely without sentimentality or folkloristic kitsch. Instead, with a decidedly political focus, "Volume 1" presents community-building dance forms – dedicated to the harvest, the soil or the fish – bringing them to the dance stage as ready-mades." - Nada Productions
